I ran the accuracy shot chart for Stephen Curry again using data from stats.nba.com, this time for the first 19 games of the 2015-16 regular season and the conclusion is: version 15-16 is better than the MVP 14-15 version. Is he bound to get another MVP?
During the 2014-15 regular season, Curry averaged 23.8 points per game. In the first 19 games of the 2015-16 regular season his average is 31.6 points per game.
His accuracy has gotten better too. So far he has been more accurate from every position except right and left corner 3’s. From above the break, curry has made 45% of shots attempted in 2015-16 versus 42.9% in 2015-16.
In the paint Curry has also been more effective: 60% accuracy in 2015-16 versus 48.4% in 2014-15. He also improved his accuracy from mid-range and under the rim.
